Complicate Me by M. Robinson Cover Reveal

COVER REVEAL
Complicate Me
The Good Ol' Boys
Best Selling Author M.Robinson
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: September 14th

It was complicated, it was also just the beginning. A decision. A simple choice. There is always that one moment in life where things could have been different. That one moment where you could have chosen a path that would lead you down a certain road. A different life. It was easier to pretend that we were still best friends, and that she was my girl and I was her boy. Pretending was better than knowing the truth... I. Ruined. Us. I had her. I lost her. I love her. All I did was complicate us.

I just couldn’t stay mad at him.
He made it absolutely impossible for me not to laugh and he knew it, too. Which only made it worse. It was like adding fuel to the fire, making it bigger and wider with each flare of gasoline. When I saw that he didn’t turn down my street and kept riding in the direction of our abandoned house, I smiled.
There was no helping that either.
The times that he chose to be with me over the boys warmed my heart, especially when he preferred me to surfing.
We parked our bikes behind the house and ran up the stairs. Over the last few months we had turned it into our own little paradise, bringing blankets and pillows to throw on the floor, candles for when it got dark, and sometimes Lucas would even bring in wood from outside to turn on the fireplace. We had magazines, board games, snacks and water. Everything we needed was there.
I loved it.
He handed me a bottled water to drink and then I passed it back to him so he could, too. I laid down on the blankets and pillows and beheld the vaulted ceilings with a content sigh.
“Whatcha’ thinkin’ about over there?” he questioned, sitting down facing me.
“How much I love this place.”
“Good.”
“I want to get married here.”
“What?” he chuckled.
“You heard me. I want to have my engagement party here and I want to get married here. And then I want to buy this house and raise a family here,” I firmly stated.
“Aren’t you a little young to think about stuff like that?”
“No. I think about stuff like that all the time.”
“Oh yeah?”
“Mmm hmm…”
“Who you marrying?”
I immediately held his amused gaze. “What?” It was my turn to say.
“You heard me,” he replied, throwing my own words back at me. “Who you marrying?”
“Oh…” I breathed out. “I don’t know.”
He raised his eyebrow but didn’t call me out on my lie. “Don’t you think that maybe you should experience things first?”
“How do you know I haven’t?” I provoked, wanting to wipe the smug look off his face.
“Because I know.”
“Whatever.” I looked away.
“You want to know how I know?”
I kept my stare on the tray ceilings, swallowing the saliva that had pooled in my mouth, and hoping that it would calm the fluttering feeling I had suddenly formed in my belly. I shrugged because I couldn’t speak; it would giveaway how I felt.
“I know because I would remember it, just like I remember our first experience. The same one that’s hanging around your neck.”
My heart pounded with each word that fell from his mouth.
“Do you want me to?”
“Do I want you to what?” I replied, already knowing what he meant but needing to hear him say it.
“Do you want me to kiss you?” He paused to let his words sink in. “Really kiss you?”
My mouth parted and my chest rose and descended with each breath I took. I found myself nodding before I gave it anymore thought, ignoring the voice in the back of my mind that screamed at me that this was a bad idea. He bent forward and rested on his hands and knees, his face, his lips, coming toward me and making me tightly shut my eyes.
Waiting.
A million thoughts went through my head, but the moment I felt his lips on mine they were all gone in an instant…

Nothing else mattered at that moment.

Fleur De Nuit by Cat Montmorency

Fleur de Nuit Synopsis:

The difference between wanting and taking is the barest catch of breath…

Decadent food, smoky music, dark delights—who could live in the French Quarter and not be tempted to partake? Moira D’Arcangelis, that’s who.

Ever since her college boyfriend tried to add her to his list of murder victims, she’s lived a quiet life, which is code for no life at all. When her best friend Kara convinces—okay, drags—her to meet Adrian LaCroix, master of the local underground kink scene, his commanding presence and sexy Cajun accent bring her latent desires back to life.

His offer to train her as a Domme is the key to regaining control of her life. Yet becoming Adrian’s protégé comes with complications. As he opens her body, mind, and soul, she begins to see Kara in a new light—right about the time a legendary Domme returns, intent on stealing Kara away.

Moira has a fight on her hands. For Kara, and against a past that comes roaring back with a vengeance. She’ll need every trick Adrian can teach her to win the right to both life—and love.

Excert

“Moira, where are you?”

She laughed at the seriousness in Kara’s voice. “Guess.” She followed with a sharp rap on the door. Her phone went dead as the door opened. Kara stood there in sleep shorts and a tank top, a ponytail and a mildly disapproving look. Moira waggled her eyebrows and walked in. “Is there anything you don’t look hot in? I don’t think I’ve ever seen you not looking good, you know that?”

Kara rolled her eyes and shut her door. “You are definitely more than buzzed. I need bourbon if I’m going to talk to you. I assume you want some too?”

“Yes, please!” Moira dropped her things and collapsed onto the couch.

Kara handed her a glass and squeezed in next to her. “What did Mistress Tamara want?”

Moira sipped the bourbon, letting the smoky heat trail down her throat. “God, that’s good. You always get the good stuff.” She set the glass down on the coffee table and leaned against Kara, wrapping an arm around her. “She wants you.”

Kara snorted. “So she asked you out to dinner? I feel like I’m missing the connection.”

“Oh, she wants me to top her sub. Josephine. The strawberry-blonde? Apparently she’s a gift for Adrian, and I’m supposed to see if she’s ready or some nonsense. And she thinks I need experience with more girls than just you.” She said that last with a bit of a pout.

Kara knocked back her bourbon and set the glass down with a wince. “What did you say?”

“I said I would. You should come. We’re meeting at Adrian’s tomorrow after I’m done with my client.”

“Maybe.”

Moira’s hand slid down Kara’s stomach. “You’re so tense. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you tense.”

“I’m cranky because you got drunk without me.” Her tone said otherwise.

“Ha. I don’t believe you.” Moira’s teeth nipped at Kara’s jaw as her hand plunged under the sleep shorts she wore. She smiled at Kara’s gasp of surprise, and pushed a finger and then two into her. “Does that help?”

Kara moaned. “Maybe I should get you drunk more often.”

Settling Synopsis:
What if the real you was the one person your husband couldn't ever meet?
Jane Johansen has carefully crafted a seemingly-perfect life. She's blessed with an adoring husband, Edward, two unwavering best friends, a powerful corporate job, and a high-security penthouse.
Then one day, Jane is unceremoniously fired, Edward's father abruptly dies, and Jane's painstakingly-built world starts crashing down around her.
Edward decides that they should move to his North Carolina hometown, to settle into suburbia surrounded by his large, extended brood. Although Jane is fascinated by the world of happy families and movie set-perfect homes, she knows that she can never fit in there. The problem is that she has never explained the facts of her life to Edward.
Jane hopes moving south will allow her to escape the shadows of her past: her time-warped mother, the trauma of her college years that has left her scarred, and her terrifying ex-boyfriend, who has been recently paroled. Most haunting is Jane's oldest and worst friend, who has been trying to track her down with the determination of a bloodhound.
Weaving the defining moments of a woman's past into the suspenseful unraveling of her present, Rachel Michael Arends pens a thought-provoking novel that will have readers enthralled from start to finish.

Exclusive Excerpt:
Jane ordered delivery food for the crew’s lunch and dinner. There isn’t anything to drink in the house except tap water, which runs tepid from the cold tap because the Southern reservoirs heat up in summer along with everything else. Remembering the gift basket Larry brought this morning, Jane goes to the kitchen and rifles through. It’s filled with North Carolina fare, including a six-pack of beer from a local microbrewery, warm, but twist-off.
She sits on the kitchen floor with her back against the pantry door, drinking room-temperature beer with all the lights on. Jane is bone tired, creaky, aching, and deadened from a week of hard labor. She finishes a beer and sets it next to her, hearing a faraway clang, as her heavy hand must have knocked the bottle over.
Her eyelids betray her for longer and longer periods before she manages to force them open again with a jolt and an involuntary jump. She’s fading fast. But she knows it’s dangerous to fall asleep when her thoughts aren’t on her side.
She’s thinking of those damn dusty footprints.
Jane wakes to the sound of her own scream. Realizing where she is, she laughs in a punch-drunk, half-eyed way, but it dries to a dusty whisper. The air conditioner was cranked earlier in hopes of some relief. Now she shivers violently.
But she can’t get up. Not to climb the stairs and fall into one of the beds, not to turn off the lights, not to use one of the bathrooms. There are too many empty doorways to pass, too many blind corners to turn.
Jane stares out to gleam and granite, stainless steel and cardboard. She feels upended, not even sure which direction she’s facing. Everything is so unfamiliar.
Nearby is a moving blanket that protected a tabletop on its journey. Jane reaches out with her foot and inches it closer. That’s as much movement as she’s willing to make. Her back against the wall, a large dish crate to lean on, and the hard wooden floors beneath, Jane makes her bed.
Sitting up higher, she tells herself to focus, but it’s like trying to stay awake behind the wheel. Then she might invite the roaring wind inside, or slap her face, or pinch her leg. She wonders if Amy fell asleep, or got giggling, or if a deer ran into her path.
Jane is tuning out, she’s going under. As her weariness wins the fight against her will, the bumps and lurches of sleep seduce her and she goes off the road. The last thing she’s consciously aware of is a single thought, played over and over in her mind like a hellish mantra:
Whose footprints were they, and where will they lead?

Excerpt: Mel, you are in deep with this man and you’ve known him less than half a day. She watched Wynton Grant amble off. And she couldn’t help but notice other women sizing up the rancher hottie too. From the moment she’d set eyes on him she had that overwhelming punch of want—a feeling that happened to her so rarely lately. So seeing the identical look of lust sizzling in his eyes? The balls to the wall woman of action who’d been in hiding for the past six months had awakened with one thing on her mind. Sex. Lots of it. Hot and dirty sex. Fast sex. Slow sex. And it turned out the very sexy best man was more than happy to oblige. This was turning out to be the best wedding ever. The object of her lust stopped to speak to an older woman, giving Mel ample opportunity to study him. The man had it going on. His shoulders were so broad that he blocked the view of the woman entirely. Pity he hadn’t taken off his western cut suit coat so she could check out his ass; she’d bet his buns were grade A prime beef too. Not only did he have a big physical presence, he carried himself with confidence. He had an easy smile—which was a sexy-as-his wicked grin. From the back she noticed his dark hair brushed his collar and held more than a little curl. The groom and groomsmen had removed their cowboy hats as soon as the wedding pictures were done. As much as she appreciated a man in a hat, Wynton looked better without it. Hands landed on the back of Mel’s chair and a soft rustle of fabric tickled her neck. “Staring at him that intently won’t make his clothes disappear,” London murmured in her ear. “That obvious?” “Yes. But if it helps, my brother-in-law is staring back at you the same way.” “Then maybe I’ll get lucky on your wedding night too, Mrs. Grant.”
