Title: Epic Sins
Author: Trudy Stiles
Reviewer: Rea Loftis
Epic Sins tells the story of a womanizing rocker, Garrett, who finds himself saddled with an unexpected remnant of a groupie one night stand. His son, Kai, who was born premature and addicted to drugs. Garrett bonds, after a tumultuous start, with the NICU nurse who is helping his son.
Sam, the NICU nurse, is fighting her own demons; that include losing her parents and work troubles.
The two bond over the struggle to keep Kai settled and healthy in his first months. I enjoyed this book, for some reason I cannot say I loved it. I liked the interaction with Kai, loving and caring for him. And I felt like overall it was an accurate description of the challenges one would face in this situation.
However, the connection between Garrett and Sam just fell short. There is a lot of back and forth about Kai but no real attraction is described except a few times by Garrett.
For that reason, Epic Sins turned out to be not so Epic for me. I have to give it just 3 vanilla cupcakes....eh, could take em or leave em.
