What started as an assignment became more than Lily could have ever hoped for...
Lily Salomé has encountered more challenges than the average twenty-four year old. After a horrendous crash killed her parents, an abusive relationship was all she needed to calcify her broken heart to stone. So when Lily’s boss comes to her with a challenge most girls would balk at, she knows there isn’t much left in this world to be afraid of.
The target: Jonas Crane, a brooding business mogul who hasn't smiled once since his divorce. Dark, dangerous and mouthwatering, Crane has written a book about life in the fast lane and with the recent publicity, Lily's boss wants the rights. Problem is, Crane won't return a phone call, let alone agree to a meeting. But if a pretty publishing assistant happens to run into him at the Waldorf, with a business card and a smile...what could go wrong?
A lot, it seems. Lily thinks she's going to the Waldorf to meet a rich jerk, or worse, a playboy, but the truth is way more challenging. Jonas Crane is smart, engaging...and devastatingly out of her league.

Title: Tiger Lily

Tiger Lily by Amelie S. Duncan book one is OK. I really don't like describing books that way, but there's just something about the wording and how the people talk to each other that just doesn't sit very well with me.
I do like the characters Jonas, Lily, Dani, and Gregor (bad name). I just feel like some of their conversations are a little unrealistic, maybe its just over the top of my head. Some of them are just very academic and philosophical, and that's just not what I'm used to reading. So if that's what you like, you may love the conversations.
Jonas is not your typical billionaire alpha male, he seems to have some holdups in getting into a relationship and not for the normal reasons. He has a somewhat complicated relationship with his ex-wife (Dani) , his son and her new boyfriend/lover. But I like the family aspect of it. I like that there's not animosity in the family, and that they can get along.
Lily, is a little harder for me to like, she has a lot of self-esteem issues stemming from previous relationships. I do know that that is something that a lot of people I identify with, so that is good. It's just not something that I like to read about. I prefer a stronger female lead, I'm hoping that Jonas will give her that support and confidence!
Lily and Gregor's relationship is a little hard to understand at this point, it's more than just your typical employer/employee relationship. You get the idea that there is a history there, but we're not really explained much of it. I am hoping that it gets fleshed out more in book 2!
There are a lot of unanswered questions at the end of book one so it's definitely not a standalone, you will have to continue to read book two to get your answers. Or at least I hope I get my answers! I'm diving into book 2 though! This start has definetly intrigued me!
3 top shelf vodka shots for book 1 in the Tiger Lily series. Because Jonas likes the Waldorf Astoria and so do I!
Title: Tiger Lily book two
Author: Amelie S Duncan

Tiger Lily book 2, unfortunately is not better than book one. I feel like the same issues that I had with book 1 are more prevalent in book two. The main problem with book two for me is the title character, Lily. I'm trying to put myself in a place where I can understand that she has a history of abuse. And that has caused her to have a lot of issues, it's just really difficult to read. Her lack of self preservation , and just letting herself be manipulated is something that I can't identify with. Maybe because I myself have never been in that situation of domestic violence, I can't fully grasp the darkness that she feels.
The bright spot for me in book one, Jonas, also gave me issues in book two. He seemed to at times put on a front that he still cares for Lily. Yet he has gone back to his complicated way of relationships prior to her. I'm just having a hard time trusting Jonas' feelings at this point.
Overall it's hard for me to really buy into the relationships that are in this series, and I really think it's unfortunate. I wanted to like the progression of the story and hoped for more. For that reason I have to give Tiger Lily Book 2 only two stars.
I'm hoping for some redemption in book 3.
Title: Tiger Lily part three
Author: Amelie S Duncan

The conclusion of the Tiger Lily series answers all the questions from book two.
Lily finally gains confidence in her relationship with Jonas, and that in turn gives her the strength to confront her past issues in her abusive relationship with Declan. She also seems to have a better base of healthy self-esteem and hopefully that will only increase. It just goes to show what being loved will really do for a person.
Jonas redeems himself for me in book 3. In book 2, I was questioning his love and motives, but he's come full circle in this book.
Even though at times the Tiger Lily series deals with heavier subject matter, you get the happy ending and fairytale experience at the end of book 3.
For me the characters make the series. In part a lot of the secondary characters, I really enjoyed the family aspect, how everyone sticks together through thick and thin, even if they're not blood related.
Overall I enjoyed the series, I can't say that I loved it. So I'm giving Book 3 of the Tiger Lily series 3 cupcakes with pixie dust sprinkled on top!
