I love tattoos and alpha males and the idea of marking someone! But unfortunately I didn't love The Marked Series.
Talan is hot, but not take charge enough for my liking. He talks the talk, but doesn't walk the walk! It was quite disappointing for the first half of book 1 for him to be the one pushing for things to go slow. It's just not in me to believe that's how an alpha male works!
Maya is a little on the hot/cold side, as well. She is definitely more persistent and not always taking the slow road. But I read these books for an escape, I just needed more backbone from both of these characters.
Once Talan and Maya come together, it's scorching! And actually, that's something that is spot on from the beginning! Their interaction is almost combustible, which is why I needed more from them!!
That feeling of the unnecessary slow burn is the main reason I can only give The Marked Series 3.5 licorice cupcakes. It sounds like a good idea, but leaves a somewhat weird taste in your mouth....
